THE LEGEND
The Chimera, a story told throughout time as a tale amongst kids -- on the latter end, it was a legendary creature, taught for its fierceness and ruthlessness. a fire-breathing combination of different parts of different animals.it was one of the most deity-fearing beings ever to walk the earth... but did the general population, did scientists, really think it ever truly existed?it was right up there with vampires, witchcraft, and werewolves, so that should answer that.but the dinosaurs roamed the earth at one point, so archeologists believed the chimera could have at some point as well. and they would find themselves to be correct, but there was only one small problem..it wasn't just one chimera who's bones were found within the tombs of lycia. it was hundreds, thousands even! all with different animal remains, ranging from amphibian, reptilian, aviaries, marine and mammals, and much more.this was a monumental discovery, one that would be a breakthrough from legend to real life. the only reason these bones weren't mistaken for normal animal remains, were because of their size. the hip socket connected to an aviary chimera's remains, stood almost as tall as the average human male. the exoskeleton of a typical snake, connected to what could only be described as a past age rhinoceros skull; it was measured to be four minivans in length!the archeologists could see the dollar signs, the awards, the success in their futures, and worked quickly to remove as many of the chimera remains as they could. it required much labor, heavy machinery that rattled the architecture of the tombs with each passing movement, threatening a collapse.when about half of the tombs had been extracted, the archeologists stood proudly and waved off the ships that would carry them back, and thought they were at the pinnacle of riches upon their return.they trekked down to where the last of the roads were and piled into their cars, ready to head back to the airport for their own departure -- only to find as soon as they put them into drive they were stuck in a horrible storm. it was as if the heavens were truly raining fire down on them for removing the remains from the locked, sacred tomb. and for what? riches?no. that wouldn't do.the debris laden valleys down to the main road were hard to navigate, even moreso with the raging winds and pounding rain and hail.truthfully they didn't stand a chance. because they couldn't see they were driving directly into the open path of a landslide. all the water pushed more debris, boulders, fallen tree trunks, everything. pushed it down the mountainside and completely wiped their vehicles out.a golden crown of success and money didn't suit them anyways for stealing the sacred bones and infiltrating, no, defiling the chimeras' tomb.meanwhile on the ships, the poor seamen had nothing to do with the remains other than being the direct transport. even still they were caught up in the seemingly same storm. it caused a riptide, the ships being pushed back and forth with the angry, unforgiving sea. eventually a maelstrom formed and slowly began to swirl all of the ships down to the depths of the ocean floor.oddly enough, for all of those seamen who jumped ship, they survived. the ocean swallowed up their ships, but closed it's mouth seemingly as soon as they all sunk.the bones however... didn't sink. which was unlike any other bone of this earth -- that are usually so dense they sink right to the bottom. no, these floated right on the top, all travelling into different directions of the world.as ginormous as they were, it seemed as they disappeared into the ocean during the avian searches, the ocean swallowing them whole once more and the search went on for months with divers, to no avail.however, once they did wash up on the beach -- it was almost one hundred percent unrecognizable to their original remains. No, these colossal remains, were now no smaller than your everyday average 1/16th of a broken shell that you stepped on walking along. the one that when you stepped on it, you winced a little bit, but otherwise didn't think too much of.many unsuspecting men, women and children, humans stepped on the pieces of bone unknowing of it's power as they walked up and down the beach, blissfully unaware of the repercussions that would come besides a scratch on their soles.each bit of bone, each piece, inserted an additional new gene to their DNA when given access to the human body by the scratches they created. It created a whole new genome for those humans, ones that were left dormant until they had offspring. depending on which bone of the chimera was stepped on, determined which strand of DNA mutation they had.ultimately their children and their childrens children, and their children's children's children all would carry this same gene.only issue is they weren't dormant. a human child being's born with fluffy ears and a tail was never on a parents to-do list and top ten birthing experiences.most of these children, the first generation anyways, were cast aside to orphanages, some unfortunately passing away with their mothers in the process. it was very seldom that the parents kept the "deformed," as society called it, babies. their animalistic features seemingly too much to handle for new parents. doctors had no idea how to come at this from a medical standpoint, throwing the children back and forth from them to the veterinary office.these children grew up and eventually became the lowest on the human food chain. spat on by society, a spectacle, the kind to be sold to circuses and killed for science to study their anatomy.laws were put in place to secure their safety from poachers and illegal adoption, only some for their autonomy, but nothing to protect them from the abuse they would endure just from being who they were. they were often sold off and adopted as pets, servants -- things of the like.this was the way it was for years, but recently new shelters have come to rise and fight for the rights of these beings as equals, they showed them love and compassion, and protected them from the worst parts of the world that wanted them killed off.their beings, their race, was from then on dubbed, the "chimera," or in laymans terms, "hybrids."
THE RULES
hello and thank you for taking an interest in our roleplay! all new rules will be sent to each individual mun if/when we find the need to do so and add them, just to ensure no one is blindly accepting new rules without knowledge or consent!all of our rules to the roleplay should be listed here, if you have any questions, please message our admin team either on mewe or tumblr~general roleplay rules:- we are an +18 roleplay community, and thus our requirements for age will issue to +18 for muns and muses, no mun under eighteen may roleplay with us and no muse under eighteen will be allowed to be roleplayed.- we don't allow severe scandal muses to be played, nor those of the deceased or who have wished to not be roleplayed. a list of such will be posted in "the members" section of this carrd.- we do not allow bubble roleplaying/cliques in this roleplay, nothing that purposefully excludes members.- given that this is an alternate universe roleplay, we will allow the use of m-preg, just so long as things are accurate to the lore of each hybrid's gestation and sub-gender rules. if you're ever confused or lost, please shoot our admin team a message or reference 'the lore' page of this carrd.- we do have an active dating ban for new members, just to ensure no face chasing, and that is active for your first two weeks of arrival. you should get a message from our admin team on your first day of freedom from that ban so no one is confused about dates or timelines!- no godmodding, no face-chasing, and no metagaming. it's not fun for anyone, and brings nothing but issues behind each offense.- we do not condone any form of bullying in this roleplay whatsoever. the first offense will result in an immediate kick and blacklist from the roleplay. roleplays exist to give relief and comfort from the outside world, no one would like to experience that in character/out of character with our roleplay as well.- moving couples are allowed and will forego the dating ban, just simply notify us in your application of the moving couple and who you'll be moving with!in/out of character rules:- should you have any in-character issues between two muses that is not planned, and it cannot be resolved out of character, we ask please that you bring this to the attention of our admin team! your pvsswqrd is your ultimate group. the last thing we want is animosity in a place that's meant to be a relaxing break from real life.- drama in character MUST MUST MUST be planned ahead of time. we cannot stress this enough. accidents happen, but we do not tolerate unplanned drama without the consent with both muns.- if you or another mun have a dispute you don't think you can solve, please bring it to the admin team with any kind of evidence for either side you can. this will help us ensure a fair decision has been made for both parties.- we can understand a new lore is difficult to remember sometimes, and we ask that everyone do their best to navigate their muses as closely to the lore for their hybrid types as possible. if you ever feel stuck, or unsure, a quick message to the admin team or tumblr can fix that, as well as can referencing 'the lore' page on this carrd!pre-acceptance to the roleplay:- some form of biography for your muse should be in the works, but it is not necessary to have it immediately upon acceptance. you will have the first two weeks of your acceptance to the roleplay to issue us your fully completed biography, whether you'll be using carrd, wordpress, canva, etc etc.- acceptances will be posted and usually followed shortly by adding your muse to the roleplay -- we try our best to stress that a completed profile made for the roleplay is made so we can get you all in for the fun and party as soon as possible!- please also insert the "crescent moon" emoji to your mewe profile somewhere, so we can ensure we're adding the correct account!- you have the choice to choose between a human muse, or a hybrid muse! no judgement on either side, because without humans we wouldn't have hybrids~- if you are roleplaying as a HUMAN muse, you are not required to play into the role of the type of human who despises hybrids! you absolutely can if you'd like the character development, but it's not required.- reservations will last up to 72 hours, and we can accept anonymous reservations with a passwordpost-acceptance to the roleplay:- you will have two weeks to finish the following:
1. completed biography
2. your first plot callin completing these, you will not only be able to forego your first activity check, you will be well off into the community!- because we are a +18 roleplay, an nsfw group will be offered for those muses who like to get a little extra spicy, but there is absolutely no requirement to join! this being said, all nsfw content, will need to be kept in that group or in private posts/messages.- more than one muse may be played by the same mun, just so long as they aren't muses from the same group or drama. after your first two weeks, you may apply for your next muse! after your second muse, there is a month wait between all new muses from there. all muns may have a total of four muses, so long as their activity doesn't falter.- hybrid muses that do not have their collars, which act as street passes, in public will be taken to the pound or shelter to await their owner's retrieval.activity requirements/activity checks:- we operate on an every two week schedule, thus which we will call for activity every two weeks to ensure we have active members. forms of activity we accept are but not limited to:
1. sns posts from each muse you have if you have more than one
2. more than one comment on a separate muses sns post
3. starter posts/starter replies
4. open starters! no reply needed to count those either
5. checking "going" to activity checks
6. moodboards, song recommending, lyrical posts, it doesn't matter!
activity is activity, and we appreciate it all the same.- we have a monthly activity check, in which you'll only need to check that you're "going." that also serves for activity for that half of the month.- we don't want anyone to feel left out, and while it isn't a requirement, we would love to see emojis on everyone's posts! spread the love! it helps to give your own posts a boost by setting the emoji theme you'd like yourself -- this way no one's struggling or worried about which emoji's to press for your post if you won't like them.hiatuses:- we understand life comes first! we offer three different types of hiatuses here at chimera krp:
1. extension: this can consist of 1-3 days. this can be a big help if you're behind on your activity and don't want to be dinged for it.
2. short term: this can consist of 5-7 days to a week. sometimes real life comes back to hit us and we get busy, and we appreciate you sticking with us!
3. long term: this is our longest hiatus, and it consists of two weeks to one month. this hiatus can only be used three times in a calendar year, though of course the admin team will do our best to work with you as we love having you around and want to keep everyone happy!
